The Russia Men’s Team

>>>>>
News

The Russia Men’s Team changed some of their great players with younger ones. I noticed it when I saw the Team Roster of the Russia Team at the World League 2001. They changed their used to be “Team Captain & setter in one” Khamouttskikh, Olikhver,  Dineikine, Orlenko, Goriouchev, & Sossounov. What was the reason? I don’t know. Maybe they retired already (because they’re old & it’s time for them to go) and making the great Sydney Olympic Games be the last competition they competed. Why do I say that? I don’t know. It’s just that their ages range from 27 to 32. But Ushakov is 31 & Saveliev is 29. Why didn’t they replace them? I don’t know. Maybe Coach Chipouline has something up in his sleeves. Hmm…

Anyways, the guys are competing at the World League right now. Wish they’d win.

Much of my discoveries, I also discovered that the Men’s national team did not compete in the EuroCups. Another club competed since they’re all not in the same club. But I haven’t checked yet if they are in separate clubs. I’ll hunt for it tonight.

The pic here is the most recent among their photo album. It was during the Sydney Games obviously. But I’ll post the pic with the new players as soon as I find one. ^_^

Clubs:
The Clubs didn’t fit in the table. Sorry about that. I’ll just enumerate each club, say something about the Russian (just the Russian) clubs, and tell who’s who and what’s what.
MGTU Luzhniki, Russia
Luzhniki means Luzhniks in English, literally. But I don’t really know what "Luzhnik" means.
- Tereshin
- Levkin
- Arkhipov
Iskra, Russia
Iskra means "spark" in Russian. So, this club is called the Sparks. Cool, huh?
- Afinoguenov
- Abramov
Uem-Izumrud, Russia
If there’s the Sparks, then there’s the Izumrudi/Izumruds, or the "Emeralds". Uem or maybe UEM, might be a place in Russia.
- Bovdoui
- Egortchev
- Guerassimov
Belogorie, Russia
I don’t know what Belogorie is. Maybe a place in Russia?
- Ushakov
- Koulechov
Neftianik, Russia
Neftianiki/Neftianiks are the people who work for the oil industry. So, maybe this club is owned by an oil company and they maybe the Oilers (if there is such word). Oilers, Sparks, Emeralds... What else? The Ural women?
- Garkushenko
Maxicono Parma, Italy
- Choulepov
- Tetioukhine
- Saveliev
Daytona Modena, Italy
- Kazakov
Cosmogas, Italy
- Iakovlev
